Street lights.

In a flash there you were.

In a flash you were gone.

Were my eyes playing tricks?

Time passes. It continues.

And again. You have my attention.

Why can’t they see what I see?

Sitting at a red light under the night sky.

Lost in thought.

Surrounded by cars, yet deafened by silence.

One single street light amongst a row of many.

Suddenly, out to darkness.

My head turns swiftly.

As if you had called my name.

As if you had tapped on my window.

Cars in front, and cars behind.

Yet I knew it was meant only for my eyes and my ears.

In that moment it was very clear.

You had been trying to reach me. For months. Possibly years.

Everyone has a turning point.

The beginning of their awakening.

This was mine.

And life would never be the same.
